Elderflower Hub

A FRIENDLY COMMUNITY HUB FOR CARERS AND FORMER CARERS
Do you have caring responsibilities for an older family member or has your caring role ended and you feel a bit lost?
Why not come and join us at our friendly Elderflower Hub, where we offer you the opportunity to meet other carers and former carers in a relaxed environment, with a cup of coffee, a piece of cake, and a fun activity!
You’re also welcome to bring along the person you care for.
Seated Dance
The hub offers a variety of activities, including a weekly seated dance session to music. This 40 – minute session, is a great way to introduce people to fun, safe and an enjoyable way to exercise, particularly for those people whose mobility is limited. It can help increase confidence, improve strength and co-ordination, and is a great way to progress to standing exercise for those who can. We occasionally have a visit from other qualified instructors who deliver falls prevention OTAGO sessions for variation or inclusive sport activity like Boccia.
Weekly Activities
Our activities differ on a weekly basis, from quizzes, outside entertainment, table-top gardening to sing along sessions. We have also been very lucky to have local nature photographer Alex Bass visit us, presenting his slideshows.
