DESCRIPTION:ActivLives is launching its Garden for Older People on Thursday
  18th May\, during Dementia Awareness Week.\n\nThe garden\, at Chantry Wal
 led Garden\, is the result of many hours hard work by volunteers of the pr
 oject.\n\nIt is especially designed to enable older people who may be whee
 lchair-bound with conditions such as Dementia to get active in an outdoor 
 community setting\, with opportunities to have a chat with other local peo
 ple\, make friends\, and share their skills and ideas.\n\nEveryday ActivGa
 rdens Development Manager Susannah Robirosa said: “We are delighted to b
 e launching this garden to enable older people to carry on gardening.\n\n
 “It is also a beautiful garden for people of all ages and abilities to e
 njoy.”\n\nCouncillor Roger Fern\, part of Ipswich Dementia Action Allian
 ce to make Ipswich a Dementia friendly town\, is expected to cut the ribbo
 n at 12 noon\, with volunteer designers and builders who have worked on th
 e project.\n\nPLANT SALE\n\nThere will be a chance to buy good quality shr
 ubs\, perennials and bedding plants\, as well as garden-ready vegetable pl
 ants.\n\nThere will also be tea and homemade cakes so you can relax and en
 joy this special garden.\n\nThe garden is in front of a heritage gardener
 ’s cottage and comprises a large patio with pergola\, sensory garden\, w
 heelchair-accessible gardening bays\, raised beds\, and – still in the m
 aking – a pictorial meadow and wildlife-viewing platform.\n\nActivLives
