Join us for the end of season sale at ActivLives’ charity plant nursery in our community walled garden in Chantry Park.
Now the weather is cooling down and we’re able to get out and enjoy working in our gardens and green spaces again, it’s the perfect opportunity to replace plants which didn’t survive the heat and get advice on drought-tolerant varieties.
Our dedicated team of volunteers will be on hand to help you pick out plants and show you the beautiful borders they have tended throughout the hot summer.
Tea, coffee and cakes will be available at Nursery Cottage – so join us for a cuppa and a chat to find out more about what we do.
Every penny you spend with us goes to supporting our charity to reach people in Ipswich and Suffolk, bringing them together to learn skills, improve their health and well-being, and connect into their community.
If you can’t make it, don’t worry – we are open EVERY Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 2pm.
We offer volunteering opportunities for people of all ages and abilities, and run courses to support positive wellbeing, and build skills and confidence.
To find out more, please visit www.activlives.org.uk/activgardens  or contact Development Manager Susannah Robirosa 07530 407302 or email susannah@activlives.org.uk. Or call ActivLives on 01473 345350.
We do our bit for the environment too – growing varieties which are bee and butterfly-friendly to attract pollinators to your garden, and using environmentally friendly methods and peat-free compost. Customers can return pots, trays and labels to us to use again to cut down plastic wastage – please note, we only accept our pots, as other returns become a waste issue for us.

Wild About Nature will give local people regular contact with nature right on their doorstep to engender a sense of delight and responsibility for the natural world, foster an understanding of key issues, and develop important skills related to caring for the environment.
Designed to be diverse and inclusive, the project will involve a wide range of people and new groups in volunteering, learning and participation in practical activities, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to enhance their own gardens and green spaces in environmentally responsible ways which make space for wildlife.
By participating, people will improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing, learn skills and gain confidence, and become an active part of their community.
Together we will improve local biodiversity by investigating what we have, researching what we could do improve it, and taking positive action – building a green wave from our community garden outwards into the local community.
ActivLives would like to thank National Lottery players for making this work possible.
