ActivHubs

ActivHubs was set up to provide a fun and social way for people to keep fit and healthy, improve strength, balance and co-ordination, and while doing all of that, make some new friends in the process!

ActivGardens

ActivGardens are all about growing! Growing plants. Growing fresh healthy food. Growing yourself… your fitness, your health, your skills, your friends, your community. Get active with ActivGardens!

ActivSport

The ActivSport programme consists of sports & physical activities targeted at people who do not play regular sport. Sessions are inclusive & activities adapted to provide for a variety of people.

ActivSingers

The Keep On Rockin’ members have achieved a sustainable singing group through weekly member support, fundraising and regular performances of classic songs for everyone to enjoy!

Grow Your Future at ActivGardens – for young people aged 16 to 24

The People’s Community Garden, Maidenhall Allotments, Halifax Road, Ipswich IP2 8RE

If you are looking for a new direction or need a boost after the challenges of Covid-19 – how about taking part in a free outdoor learning programme at ActivGardens?

Grow Your Future will enable you to learn new skills and gain confidence on your way to further learning, training or employment. The 12-week programme will be based in Sudbury’s town park – you will learn horticultural skills, garden maintenance and the basics of parks upkeep. You may have a chance to work in other local areas – learning about nature conservation and environmentally friendly methods. Grow Your Future is for young people aged 16 to 24 who are unemployed or economically inactive, and not engaging in education or training.

This programme is part of Skills Connect – a Youth Pledge project funded by the European Social Fund. It is led by East Coast College in partnership with Access Community Trust, DIAL, Voluntary Norfolk and The Prince’s Trust.

Share skills, learn informally, pursue your hobbies and interests! Make friends and get more involved in your community!
Are you stuck indoors too much? Would you like to get out more and meet like-minded people in an informal, relaxed setting?
Do you like working with tools, repairing and mending, DIY projects?
If so, then why not join our ActivSheds project for men. You can share tools and resources and work on a wide range of projects such as renovation, building raised beds and cold frames, or smaller items such as bird boxes or plant troughs
You may have your own ideas or project you’d like to suggest. We can also give you help, advice and support to set up your own Men’s Shed project in your community

This is a very friendly activity session targeted at older, independent adults. It is held in a very comfortable, accessible venue. The group play the two very inclusive sports of New Age Kurling and Boccia. Kurling can be played either standing or seated, Boccia (a Paralympic sport), is always played whilst sitting down. Both are ‘target sports’ and great fun to play. All of the equipment is provided and the session is led by one of our experienced Activity Facilitators.

We do not currently provide refreshments as part of this session, so please bring your own drink/snack, if required.

This session is suitable for participants who use a wheelchair.
