ActivGardens Grow Your Future Project Officer

My love of nature and exploring the outdoors led me to do a geography degree at the University of Hull. During my degree, I became interested in how community gardens improve food security, create social networks and increase biodiversity. After graduating, I did an outdoor education internship with the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, where I become a qualified Level 2 Forest School Assistant. Afterwards, I became a manager at a garden centre, which gave me a great understanding of plants and the growing process. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and helping people feel connected to our natural environment. On a personal note, I enjoy hiking, wild swimming and craft activities such as floristry, painting and wild art.
