ActivLives is hosting an Inclusive Boccia Tournament in Ipswich next month. The tournament will be held on Saturday, 21st February from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Gainsborough Sports Centre, Braziers Wood Road, Ipswich, IP3 0SP.

The tournament is in partnership with Special Olympics Suffolk. It is also being supported by Sport England and Ipswich Borough Council.

The tournament event has been sanctioned by Special Olympics GB (SOGB), as a Regional Partnership Single Sport Competition. This means that players who are registered with SOGB, as well as those who are not, are able to participate. Participation in this event will help an athlete to meet the eligibility criteria for the Special Olympics GB National Summer Games being held later this year. This will be a Pairs and Team event. Singles divisions in the event will be confirmed soon if this is required for SOGB National Summer Games eligibility. All competitors will be divisioned based upon Boccia England and SOGB

These are fun events which are aimed at anyone with a disability (intellectual, physical and/or sensory), who would like to get involved with this most inclusive of sports.

The entry contribution for this competition will be £10 per player. Interested players should register on or before 9th February, 2026 by calling ActivLives on 01473 345350 or email mike@activlives.org.uk.

The charity successfully organised several boccia tournaments in the past years and received positive feedback from players and their families and supporters.

We both really enjoyed the tournament. It was a really good atmosphere. ActivLives is really good at what they do for all of us.

-Ashley and Mark, Athletes

The tournament seemed really well organised with plenty of volunteers. The boccia players all seemed to be enjoying themselves.
