Remember ActivLives in your Will

Many Charities are able to keep delivering services, because people who have used their services, a partner or family member are grateful for the support that the Charity has been able to give over a short or long period of time and leave a gift in their Will to help the organisation continue to help others in similar situations. You could help ActivLives to help others now and in the future.

Why leave a legacy?

ActivLives is committed to being there keeping people, active, independent and connected to their community. By leaving a legacy to ActivLives, you can help to make sure that we keep developing our ActivHubs and services, improving people’s health and well-being, access to learning and reducing loneliness and social isolation. Every single gift is crucial to the work of ActivLives and means that years from now, people will still be able to access a wide variety of ActivLives services, if they need support or if they are feeling vulnerable or lonely. With your help we can ensure that our services continue into the future and make sure that our activities and support networks are there to help people to live full and active lives. That is why every single gift to ActivLives is so valuable. We promise that your gift, however large or small, will be spent wisely and make a genuine difference to lives of the people who need our help and support.

How to leave a legacy?

We would always recommend that you speak to a qualified professional, such as a solicitor, when making or amending your will.

If you already have a will

If you already have a will and you want to include a gift to ActivLives in it, there may not be need to rewrite it. You can ask a qualified professional such as a solicitor to add an amendment (called a codicil). If the change you wish to make is quite small or simple, you can use a codicil, and if the change is more significant or complex you might need to make a new will.

What kind of gift can you leave to ActivLives?

You can leave a specific sum of money, an item such as jewellery or a piece of art. Or you can leave a share in, or all of, what’s left of the value of your estate, after all other family/friends matters have been dealt with. The advantage of leaving a share (also known as residuary gift) is that it remains the same over time, and you won’t need to change your will to keep up with inflation. Whatever the value of your gift, it will help many more people in the future. Always speak to a qualified professional / solicitor if you are making or amending your will.
