September 4 @ 3:45 pm - November 27 @ 6:00 pm

£4.50
2 people play a game of badminton. One player wears a purple t-shirt with white stripes on the sleeves with the word Suffolk emblazoned on the back of the shirt, he stands with his back to the camera. The badminton net stretches across the middle of the photo and the second player is in the background of the photo. He wears a white t-shirt, black shorts and red trainers. He holds a pruple badminton racquet in his right hand.

Wednesday 3.45pm-6.00pm
Suffolk New College (Goals) Sport Centre,
Ipswich, IP4 1LT

This session is in fact two sessions/groups 3.45pm-4.45pm followed by 5.00pm-6.00pm

Badminton is a very inclusive sport. These sessions are aimed particularly at adult participants who have an intellectual (learning) disability (Minimum age 16).

If you would like to get involved with the great game of badminton, then this group could be for you. It’s the fastest racket sport in the world but don’t worry, we usually take a bit of time when we play! We start each session with a group warm up, just to help to loosen up and to prepare us for the session. Then we have a go at some skills practices, we also try to improve our tactical awareness – really important in badminton! We follow this with plenty of games – doubles and singles.

All of the equipment is provided, so don’t worry if you don’t have your own racket. The sessions are led by a Badminton England Licensed Coach, with the support of some excellent volunteers.

These sessions are delivered in partnership with Special Olympics Suffolk. Participants, who are eligible, can access Special Olympics competitions at regional and national level, through regular participation with this group..

£4.50 per session.

Local bus route and off-road parking available.

Covid-19 measures (Hands-Face-Space-Fresh Air) are in place at these sessions. We always welcome new participants – If you would like more information, or you would like to discuss the suitability of this activity for you or your son/daughter, please call us on 01473 345350 or email mike@activlives.org.uk

We would love to hear from you!
