Young people from Stoke High Ormiston Academy are donning their aprons ready to serve seasonal goodies and cakes they have made, at the People’s Community Garden’s plant and produce market on Friday (13th April).

In a new initiative with local charity ActivLives, pupils from Ipswich schools will learn valuable skills for work and life as they plan and prepare for the popular pop-up cafe from 10am to 12.30pm at the CRESS Pavilion, Halifax Road, Ipswich IP2 8RE.

At this friendly community event, there will be seedlings to plant on your plot, bedding plants to spruce up your garden or windowsills, and freshly picked produce – come and taste the difference!

ActivSheds will be taking orders for bird tables and hedgehog homes, or you may like to bring along your garden bench for renovation – now it’s getting warm enough to sit outside.

Maidenhall Residents’ Association will be offering bric-a-brac, handmade cards and household items, while other organisations will be joining in with items for sale and local information.

So come and relax with a cuppa and get to know your neighbours.

There is parking in on site car park and in surrounding roads. The CRESS Pavilion is fully accessible with an accessible toilet.

Future 2018 CRESS markets will be held on FRIDAY 11 May – People’s Community Garden open as part of St Elizabeth Hospice Open Gardens, 8 June, July market is replaced by the Big Garden Party on Saturday 21 July, markets resume 10 August, 14 September, 5 October – celebrating the wonderful world of fungus! There will be no market in November as we prepare for our Christmas Market (talking about Christmas already!) on Friday 7 December 2018.
