ActivLives is holding a ‘Get to Know You’ afternoon at Castle Hill Community Centre, Highfield Rd, on Thursday 1st May from 12 noon to 3.30pm. There will be a FREE lunch, a sing-a-long, tea and a chat, raffle and then a chance to boogie.

ActivLives would like to meet people who live in Whitton, Whitehouse and Castle Hill to find out what people do already to keep active or what they might like to do such as walking, seated / standing exercise, Nordic Walking, swimming, bowls and how we can reduce loneliness by enabling people to meet and make new friends.

Julie Stokes CEO said, ‘ ActivLives grew out of the very successful Town & Bridge Project, which worked specifically in the town centre & Stoke area of Ipswich. In 2012 we became a Charity, which has allowed us to expand our services across Ipswich and this funding from the NW Area Committee will enable us to work with local people to develop activities that will help improve their health and well-being  and keep them involved in their community. Our community singing group, Keep on Rockin’, already meet at Stratford Court Sheltered Housing Scheme every Wednesday evening and we are now supporting the development of the Walking Football sessions at Whitton Sports Centre on a Friday.’

For those unable to attend the first event and to reach more people in NW Ipswich, another session will be held in the Whitehouse area in the next few weeks.

If you would like to attend either event, please contact Julie on 01473 261112 to book your FREE lunch.
