There were 84 participants who took part in a wide range of fun adapted and inclusive sports during the afternoon from Walking Football, Walking Netball, Badminton, Table Tennis, to name a few. Roger Osbourne, ActivLives Patron, presented the medals and engraved silver salvers to winners and two special awards to members who had not only shone as a participants , but had also supported and encouraged other members to ‘have a go’.
Mike McCarthy, ActivIpswich Manager said, “ The first ActivLives Community Games has been a great success, the support was tremendous from both ActivIpswich and ActivSuffolk members, with people representing their groups from Lakenhealth, Eye, Stowmarket, Felixstowe and Ipswich. It has definitely proved that you are never too old to take up a sport. A big thank you to the volunteers and staff who helped to make it a real fun, social and competitive afternoon and a big thank you to Roger Osbourne for presenting the medals. Here’s to another one next year….”
